Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team in San Jose. This is a contract role requiring onsite presence and an in-person interview. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building and optimizing data pipelines, working with large-scale datasets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data workflows.
Work with structured and unstructured data across multiple sources.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver clean, reliable datasets.
Optimize data storage, retrieval, and query performance.
Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and validation processes.
Support real-time and batch data processing systems.
Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards.

Required Skills & Experience
4–8 years of professional experience in Data Engineering.
Strong expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).
Hands-on experience with Big Data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
Proficiency in Python/Scala/Java for data processing.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) – especially AWS services like S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex data workflows.

Nice-to-Have
Exposure to data modeling and data warehouse design.
Experience with Airflow or other orchestration tools.
Knowledge of machine learning pipelines integration.
