The Cybersecurity Operations Engineer will implement and sustain Zero Trust Architecture across cloud and application environments to ensure secure and resilient system operations. The individual will embed DevSecOps security controls throughout the development lifecycle, designs cybersecurity architectures supporting continuity objectives, and provide technical support for backup, disaster recovery, and COOP capabilities, including participation in bi-annual exercises and remediation activities.
- Serve as a technical escalation point (Tier 3) for complex cybersecurity operations and engineering issues, driving root‑cause resolution and long‑term fixes
- Translate architectural and security design decisions into operationally supportable implementations, ensuring controls are durable and maintainable
- Lead technical coordination across security, cloud, application, and operations teams to ensure engineered solutions integrate cleanly into day‑to‑day operations
- Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented security controls and recommend engineering enhancements to address emerging threats or operational gaps
- Develop and maintain engineering-level artifacts (e.g., solution designs, configuration standards, and implementation guidance) to support consistency and auditability
- Partner with program leadership and government stakeholders to communicate technical risk, tradeoffs, and remediation strategies in a clear, decision‑oriented manner
- Support continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned from incidents, exercises, and operational performance into engineering updates and control refinements
